Our Mission Statement To bring to public awareness, to educate about and to assert the intrinsic worth and value of each person. That they have rights as living persons, this especially of the weak and vulnerable, the baby in the womb, the elderly, and the disabled all of whom have the right to live. To assert that no person should have this right to live taken away from them. Our Aims We wish to join in the ‘marketplace of ideas’ and to offer and share information and encouragement. We wish to stand ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with others who are standing up for the value of all human persons. We aim to produce short Briefing Papers from time to time on relevant issues to assist in clarifying important points needing attention. Our Guiding Principles We are humanists, and we assert: The importance of human reason and the intrinsic value of every human life from conception until natural death. That every person has the right to live and be encouraged with the opportunity to live life to the full. That human persons are naturally given a chance at conception to live the fullness of life. That there is a greatness and inestimable value in having the right to live and to share and contribute in the goodness of life. That there are rights to life for the human person that need to be respected to the highest degree. That upon the recognition of these rights is what every human community and political community needs to be based. In this day and age these rights in some areas are clearly seen to becoming more and more eroded. That there is an extraordinary increase in the gravity of threats to human life, to the lives of individuals and peoples, especially where life is weak and defenseless, and through violence and war. Some choices that were once unanimously considered as criminal and rejected by common moral sense are gradually becoming socially acceptable. That people require true and responsible decisions from effective bodies, rather than false or deceptive solutions which are opposed to the truth and the good of persons and nations. The effect of the devaluing of life includes the destruction of so many human lives still to be born or in their final stages. The effect is also that the heart or conscience of people can be darkened by widespread conditioning, therefore making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between right and wrong and undermining the appreciation of the Intrinsic value of human life.
